about

Ever since it's birth more than a few days ago BRASS TAX was considered the problem child of the musical world.  It's swinging, jumping rhythm expressed in a sometimes gay sometimes sad mood has found enthusiastic acceptance from the bustling campsites under the Alvarado street bridge to the romantic left bank bistros in gay Glendale.
BRASS TAX music is not a succession of notes scored on staffed paper, but a translation of "feelings" into music.  Despite the fact that the rhythm is one of youth many of it's most ardent followers are found among the older age groups…and no wonder, for the scintillating rhythm makes older folks feel young again and adds a mature feeling to the youth.
BRASS TAX is considered to have been born in sin and raised in controversy.  After the federal government closed the New Orleans Red Light district in 1917, the members of BRASS TAX have been out of work.  Pioneers such as Jada Wagensomer, Lowell Abellon, Travis Popichak and Jeremy Sage have been spreading their new musical discovery throughout the 48 states and Burbank as well…right on to the stage of the Kibitz Room and other fine concert establishments throughout the world.
We are proud to present BRASS TAX, a group of outstanding young collegiates who are destined to become one of America's foremost exponents of BRASS TAX music.  Their renditions of "Cottleston Pie" and "Happy Birthday" are memorable true interpretations of music at it's best.
Kick back and relax with BRASS TAX.
